Due to family health issues over the past year any plans to relocate to Colorado Springs have been placed on indefinite hold. While my family and I very much would like to make that transition, it would not be the correct thing to do at this time. Training continues in Columbia as always.

As far as training goes, I would like to share a quote with everyone from T.S. Eliot's book entitled "The Sacred Wood"; and please take it for what it is worth: "Tradition is a matter of much wider significance. It cannot be inherited, and if you want it you must obtain it by great labour."

The above quote sums up my thoughts on training in general, as well as specifically for this year. Everyone take care and keep up the practice.

This update is long overdue, and I apologize for any confusion that my silence has caused as to my actual whereabouts and training schedule. I am still in Maryland for the time-being, and still holding training in Columbia on Monday's and assisting with the Columbia Buyu Dojo's classes on most Thursday nights. I am still planning on tranisitioning out to Colorado Springs, but this is completely dependent on my employer so I am still unable to give an exact date.

As this move is a possibility with a very short notice, I am not accepting any new students currently. Current Bujinkan students, with some training experience with another instructor, are always welcome to come train for the time being though.

As soon as a firm date for the move is provided to me I will make sure to update this page immediately. In the meantime, everyone train hard and safely!

Training has finally resumed here at the Magokoro Dojo, after much family and work-related delays, and I couldn't be happier with it! Training, as always, is revolving around the kihon and cultivating proper taijutsu movement. The next few months before the move to Colorado will be focusing on the basics of the basics, the foundation pieces that relate to all other taijustu movements.

Basics, which are often mistaken as simple, are something that you will never master. They are constant reminders as to flaws in your movement. Only through practicing them diligently can you identify these impurities and then work to iron them out, which in turn exposes more flaws, and so on and so on. I urge all serious students of taijutsu to not fall victim to complacency with their basics, looking for more 'advanced' methods to train. The true advancement comes from meticulously studying the foundation pieces of our art.

I have recieved a more concrete date for the move to Colorado Springs, CO. I will be relocating myself and the dojo in early February. I am already making contacts out there that should help me to establish a dojo quickly after settling in. I am very much looking forward to meeting the local Bujinkan community in Denver and the surrounding areas, and I hope that we will all be able to work together in the spirit of the Bujinkan to transmit Hatsumi Soke's teachings correctly.

Prior to the move, the dojo will re-open in a new location here in Maryland. The details should be finalized within the next two weeks, with training to resume in the beginning of September. As always, especially when there are lulls in regular training, I hope that those who train with me are continuing to train on there own. Junan taiso, ukemi, sanshin no gata and the koshi sanpo no kamae whould be the main emphasis of solo-training and I have been working diligently on these things as well. I look forward to returning to the dojo and practicing with those who are true friends!

Things are progressing well for my, and the dojo's, move to Colorado Springs, CO. The good news is within a week the time frame should be pinned down and I will be able to begin work on establishing training out in that area, the bad news is that the delay is inhibiting my ability to restructure training here in the Maryland area. The moment I am able to, I will post a revamped training schedule for up to when I make the move out west.

As one half of the leadership of one of the most respected dojo's on the east coast, the Bujinkan Yume Dojo, for the last 11 years it is both sad and exciting to move on like this. I have supreme confidence in those students of Shidoshi Chris Davy and myself to establish solid dojos in their respective areas though, and they will always have both of our support in their future training endeavors! Make sure to keep an eye on the Yume Dojo website for updates on training in the MD/DC/VA area.
